Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and state PWD minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday inaugurated the extension of Ganeshguri Bishnu Rabha flyover, connecting the RG Baruah road with Srimanta Sankardev Path.
The 425-metre long extension of the Ganeshguri flyover is being built under the State-Owned Priority Scheme (General) with a financial outlay of Rs 58.76 crores.
Inaugurating the flyover, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said, “This flyover is an example of good governance. This shows how our government is undertaking quality governance activities and development projects.”
Minister of State (PWD) Jogen Mohan said, “This newly-constructed flyover will minimise the traffic congestion in Ganeshguri by about 35 percent. This will surely ease the traffic jams in the peak hour.”
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Himanta Biswa said, “The flyover is an epitome of the dedication shown by the PWD team amid COVID adversities.”
“Guwahati is now able to compete with cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata in taking up such construction work and development projects,” added Sarma.
