In a spine-shivering incident, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father Babul Sharma of the Bhaskar Nagar area under the Geetanagar Police Station in Guwahati.
The mother of the victim lodged a complaint in the Geetanagar Police Station as soon as the victim informed her about the whole incident.
Speaking to Headline8, SI Bhaskarjyoti Baruah of Geetanagar Police Station said, “We have apprehended the accused from his residence and investigation is going on. The rapist is currently under police custody.”
On the basis of the complaint, the police have lodged an FIR 317/20 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO act.
