The Hare Krishna Movement and Airports Authority of India (AAI) will provide free meals to patients and relatives of the patients at Dr. B Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) and Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) for the coming year. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two organisations at a function held at the cancer institute on Tuesday.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Amal Chandra Kataki, Director of BBCI, the vice-president of the Hare Krishna Movement, Guwahati, Vijay Pandit Dasa, and the Executive Director of AAI, M Suresh.
Amal Chandra Kataki at the event said, “The step taken by the two organisations is very commendable. Dr. B Barua Cancer Institute will always provide support in this regard.”
It is to be noted that free meals will be provided twice a week at B Borooah Cancer Institute for 350 people and Mahendra Mohan Chowdhury Hospital for 250 people.
