Kamrup Metro Allows 5 People To Perform Namaz At Mosques And Idgahs

News Desk: Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu on July 30 issued an order in view of the upcoming Eid-Ul-Adha celebration. This year, Eid-Ul-Adha or Bakri Eid will be celebrated on August 1.

Biswajit Pegu on July 29 held a meeting with representatives of various Masjid and Idgah Committees. In the meeting, the representatives urged Biswajit Pegu to allow at least 5 persons to attend Namaz.

After the meeting, it was decided that 5 worshippers will be allowed to perform Namaz at Masjids and Idgahs.

 

The Government in Home and Political department also allowed gathering of 5 persons to perform Namaz at all Idgahs and Masjids.

The 5 persons gathered to perform Namaz will have to follow strict COVID-19 protocols. They have to maintain social distancing at the time of Namaz. Moreover, it is mandatory to wear a mask. The government also urged the authorities to perform sanitization before and after the Namaz.

Biswajit Pegu further requested worshippers to offer Namaz at their respective residence.

The Government of India further issued that all the protocols concerning COVID-19 must be followed during the celebration.

 

It needs to be mentioned that no other relaxations will be allowed as issued by the Government on July 18.

The Government of Assam has allowed inter-district movement on July 30-31. It is done to allow people to visit their homes before the Eid-Ul-Azha.
