News Desk: Chief Secretary of Assam Kumar Sanjay Krishna on Saturday issued an order today extending the lockdown in the city by 7 days. The notification also includes the guidelines for the lockdown.
This order shall come into force with effect from 6 PM of July 12, 2020 and shall remain in force up till 7 PM of July 19, 2020.
“I have also been given to understand that due to extensive testing, isolation and other restrictive measures, community spread of COVID 19 has been contained to some extent and is showing encouraging downward trend which necessitates further extension of prohibitory measures in order to contain the spread of the pandemic and avoid large scale spread of incidence of COVID 19 which is highly likely to cause loss of human lives”, the order stated.
