The blood bank unit of the city-based Marwari hospitals organised its first blood donation camp at ITA Machkhowa, Guwahati in its newly launched Mobile Blood Donation van on Sunday i.e on 21st March 2020.
Dr. S.N.Sharma, Director of Blood Bank, Marwari Hospitals along with his team of blood bank technicians from Marwari Hospitals consulted the blood donors at ITA Machkhowa.
“Yes, we organised our very first camp in our newly launched Mobile Blood Donation Van at ITA Machkhowa. It was an overall successful camp and we are very glad to announce this. Altogether 17 donors came to donate blood out of which, we selected only 10 donors, the other 7 were rejected for medical reasons,” stated Dr. S.N.Sarma, Director of Blood Bank, Marwari Hospitals.
It should be noteworthy to mention that this blood donation camp on Sunday was also organised in association with International Human Rights Council, Guwahati Chapter.
Along with the blood donation camp at ITA Machkhowa in the mobile blood donation van, another in-house camp was also held at the premises of Marwari Hospitals in the Blood Bank Unit. Total of 25 units of blood were collected in that camp. Altogether, 35 persons came for donation out of which only 25 were selected for the donation.
Director of Blood Bank, Marwari Hospitals, Dr.S.N.Sharma also mentioned there will be a mega in-house camp on 23rd March on the occasion of 90th Martyr’s Day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev which will be organised by JCI Kamrup Esteem, at the premises of Marwari Hospitals in the Blood Bank Unit.
The blood Bank Unit of Marwari Hospitals aims to organise more and more blood donation camps, both in-house and with the Mobile Blood Donation Van which was launched on 20th March, in the near future in different areas of the State to help the blood needy patients.
