Parts of Dispur Declared as ‘Protected Areas’; Violators to Be Prosecuted

Kamrup (Metro) District Administration on Friday has declared parts of Dispur as ‘Protected Area’.

This has been done to regulate the entry of an unauthorized person into the areas, except bonafide residents and public servants.
The areas labeled as ‘Protected Area’ are-
1. Southern side of GS Road starting from Ganeshguri flyover up to Super Market Police Point.
2. Road starting from Super Market Police Point to Last Gate.
3. From Last Gate along RP Road up to the entry A.L.A
4. From Ganesh Mandir to Ganeshguri Chariali.

The order was given by Kamrup (M) District Magistrate Biswajit Pegu. The official order states, “No person or group of persons, except the bonafide residents and public servants as mentioned in the pars above, shall enter into or stay in or pass over or loiter in or around the scheduled area in the vicinity thereof without prior permission from the District Magistrate, Kamrup Metropolitan or any officer duly authorized by him on his behalf or the Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, Assam or the Secretary, Assam Legislative Assembly or an officer duly authorized by him.”
“Violation of this order by any person shall be liable to be punished under Sub-Section (5) of Section 8 F of the Act.
