Former Assam Chief minister Tarun Gogoi’s mortal remains will be cremated on Thursday with full state honours. However, the location for cremation has not been decided yet.
Gogoi’s mortal remains were moved from Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) to his official residence in Dispur.
The body of the former Chief Minister of the state will be kept at his official residence, Dispur for his family and relatives to pay their last respects and after that, it will be taken to Janata Bhawan followed by Rajiv Bhawan.
The mortal remains of the departed leader will be taken to Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra for public viewing at around 4 pm and will remain there until the morning of November 26.
His final journey will take him to a church, temple and mosque, after which he will be cremated with full state honors.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also declared three-days state mourning in the state.
