Gauhati High court asks govt to help slums dwellers without ration cards

The Gauhati High court has asked the government to provide necessary help in the form of food and other day-to-day support items to the families of Guwahati slums who doesn’t have ration cards and are in need to help during the pandemic.
The court has also guided the government to identify the ration card recipients of slum spaces of Uzan Bazar, Bharalumukh, Santipur, and Bhutnath in Guwahati.
The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (MNC) election has not taken place there is no Ward Commissioner to identify the people who do not have ration cards so, the High court has made other arrangements. As a temporary solution, the Inspector of Food and Civil supplies attached to the office of Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (Metro), or any such competent authority to work on the purpose to identify these people.
