Another horrific incident rocked the state of Assam. A woman heading home yesterday evening (7 June 2021) in Jorhat, was raped by two men.
According to a police source, the woman was found in a semi-naked state by a female police constable by the road, who took her to a hospital for examination.
Top police officials in Jorhat found the woman’s belongings, which include cash of Rs. 250, slippers, and a small bag at the site, to be used as evidence.
As per sources, the two miscreants have been identified as father and son, Nagen Saikia and Ghan Saikia, who are rickshaw-pullers by occupation. Both of them are said to be staying as renters in Jorhat’s Badulipar.
