BSF in a press conference held on 24 January 2022 announced the highlights of the events that occurred in the last year. During the period between 26th Jan 2021 to 24th Jan 2022 FTR Guwahati has made, a total seizure worth Rupees more than 11 Crore consisting of cattle heads (8,125 heads), Phensedyl (32,884 bottles), Yaba Tablets (45897 tablets), Ganja (3630.71kgs), etc which were seized in the AOR of Guwahati Frontier. Further, the force has successfully apprehended 141 Indian smugglers and 117 Bangladeshi smugglers.
BSF has Improved its relationship substantially with Border Guards Bangladesh through various Confidence Building Measures like a mutual understanding program, Witnessing raising program, Maitri cycle Rally, Golden Jubilee year of Bangladesh Liberation war 1971, Simultaneous coordinated patrols with Border Guarding Bangladesh (BGB), and sharing of inputs between both nodal officers regarding trans-border crime, etc.
Civic Action Programs are held which provide sports items to youth, stationary to both area students, pesticide spray machines to farmers, sewing machines to empower women and folk, medical camps, providing tricycles to Divyangs, and evacuation of patients at crucial hours.
Moreover, during the time when the Covid pandemic hit the state BSF initiated various Covid awareness and vaccination drives to educate the make the people conscious during the dark hour.
BSF also made sure to observe various activities like Fit India Freedom Run, World Environment Day, Republic Day, and Independence Day, Plantation Drive, Blood Donation Camp, BSF raising Day, and many others.
