The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) took a decision that all Hookah Bars in the city are to be closed down permanently.
The decision was taken by GMC commissioner Devasish Sharma in a meeting held on Friday.
GMC issued a notification stated that all the Hookah Bars under its jurisdiction are to be closed permanently. However, on June 5, all hookah bars under the jurisdiction of GMC were temporarily banned given the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation.
