Ahead of the second phase of the Assam Assembly Election, Assam Police on Monday night recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition.
Based on specific input, commandoes of Assam Police and Kokrajhar Police organized a major search operation under the command of SP Rakesh Raushan. The team was successful in recovering:
• Three AK-56
• 157 rounds of ammunition
• Eight blankets and
• 150 kg ration, medicine, and other items.

The search team combed nearly 20 kilometers through the difficult terrain of the Ripu forest.
Assam Police under the leadership of Inspector General of Police (BTAD) LR Bishnoi (IPS) has intensified search operation in the BTAD region. This has been done to ensure a violence-free election in the second phase of the Assam Assembly Election.
