International Desk: As many as 748 Indian nationals stranded in Pakistan due to the corona virus lockdown are set to return back to their homeland in three batches after going through necessary health protocols.
“It is requested that their repatriation to India through Wagah Border takes place in three batches on June 25, June 26 and June 27, following necessary health security protocols,” read the letter issued by Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior.
Last month, several batches of stranded Pakistani nationals were repatriated via Attari-Wagah Border. At least 250 Pakistani nationals have returned from India till date while the schedule of return of the remaining stranded Pakistanis in India is yet to be given by the Indian government.
Those returning from Pakistan amid the Covid-19 pandemic will be quarantined for at least 14 days while citizens from Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh will be quarantined in their respective states.
According to the latest data released by the Pakistan government, a total of 171,666 people have been infected with corona virus the country and 3,382 have died so far.
