Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen announced Tuesday that he tested positive for COVID-19 at the Group of 20 meetings in Bali, just days after hosting a summit in Phnom Penh with many world leaders, including President Joe Biden.
The Cambodian leader announced Monday night on his Facebook page that he had tested positive and that the result had been confirmed by an Indonesian physician. He announced his return to Cambodia and the cancellation of his meetings at the G-20 and the following APEC economic forum in Bangkok.
Cambodia hosted the ASEAN summit, which concluded on Sunday, and Hun Sen met with many of the leaders who attended one-on-one.
Guests included Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, and many others, in addition to Biden.
