Satellite images released on Wednesday show that China has deconstructed dozens of structures and has cleared out vehicles to clear entire military camps near the controversial Himalayan region where Indian and Chinese troops have been in conflict since last summer.

Both the countries announced a proposal to retreat their respective troops, tanks and other equipment from the Pangong Tso area which was the core point of the border dispute.

Satellite images by Maxar Technologies from Tuesday show that the various different military camps of China, which were present during the month of January, have been removed.

A discussion between the military commanders of both countries came to the conclusion of withdrawing troops in an ordered and verified way.

In April 2020, tensions started rising when India accused Chinese troops of invading into its side of the Line of Actual Control, the de facto border. But China denied that allegation and said that they were operating on their side.

Problems rocketed when 20 Indian soldiers and an unknown number of Chinese troops were killed during violent clashes in Ladakh’s Galwan region.

Until February, India and China were not able to come to a conclusion even after many rounds of diplomatic and military talks.

Images and videos released by the Indian army showed Chinese troops deconstructing tents, bunkers, tanks, vehicles being moved out as a disengagement process.
