Business tycoon and engineer Elon Musk becomes the richest person in the world with a net worth of more than Us Dollar 185 billion, pushing behind Jeff Bezos.
Thursday’s increase in Tesla’s share price marked the rise of Elon Musk as the richest man in the world. Earlier, Jeff Bezos was the richest person since 2017 and is currently worth about Us Dollar 184 billion.
The business tycoon, Musk’s wealth surged over the past year marking the fastest rise to the top of the rich list in history. This recent rise of Musk can be termed as a financial turnaround who just 18 months ago was in the headlines for Tesla’s rapid cash burn and personal leverage against the company’s stock. Musk started the year 2020 with a worth of about US $ 20 billion and was barely in the top 50 richest people.
The rocketing share price of Tesla has increased more than ninefold over the past year adding more than 150 billion US Dollars to his net worth.
Meanwhile, the share price of Jeff Bezos’ Amazon has remained more subdued due to the potential for increased regulation from Washington.
