Environmental activist Greta Thunberg created a commotion on Wednesday by sharing “toolkit” to boost and expand farmer’s voices on Twitter.
Many social media users criticised her for being a part of a global stratagem to defame India before she took down the tweet. It also led to people sharing #GretaThunbergExposed.
In her tweet, she shared a link to a Google Document consisting of several resources to marshall people against the farm laws.
Later, Greta Thunberg deleted the tweet and altered it with a “new toolkit” in which she asked people to tweet, call or mail government officers to take action and mentioned various other actions to support protesting farmers.
It is unknown who made the now-deleted document viral which included a list of earlier actions taken to support farmers’ voice on online platforms. It even listed various hashtags like #AskIndiaWhy, #FarmersProtest and #TheWorldIsWatching with particular dates where they trended and would possibly trend. It even stated that volunteers should tag the UN and their representatives to showcase the cruelty against farmers.
Under a section named “ How can you help?”, the toolkit motivated people to be a part of on-ground protests, post unity and harmony videos online between February 21 and 26, to be a part of international tweetstorm on February 4 and 5 and to sign online petitions supporting farmers.
Here are some snaps of the ‘toolkits’ Greta shared before deleting:
