Sri Lankan Opposition Leader Urges PM Modi To Help Nation Amid Crisis

In view of the major economic crisis in Sri Lanka, Sri lankan Opposition chief and Member of Parliament (MP) Sajith Premadasa on Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to assist their nation to the utmost potential extent.

“Please attempt to assist Sri Lanka to the utmost potential extent. That is our motherland and we have to reserve it”, the leader stated.

“Please try and help Sri Lanka to the maximum possible extent. This is our motherland, we need to save our motherland,” Premadasa said in a message to PM Modi, as quoted by ANI.

It is also mentioned that amid Sri-Lankan economic crisis the 26-member Sri-Lankan cabinet has also submitted letter of resignation. They have all signed a general letter, consenting to resign paving a way for a new cabinet to be formed. Regarding this Sajith Premadasa remarked it as a melodrama and stated that, the Sri Lankan leader termed the en masse resignation of the cabinet a “melodrama enacted to dupe”. Premadasa added that the resignations are not a “genuine effort” to bring relief to Sri Lanka but “an exercise in fooling” them.
