A new skyscraper in Dubai is set to be the world’s tallest residential structure. The building, known as Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co Residences, is a collaboration between Emirati property development company Binghatti and watchmaker Jacob & Co.

Both companies unveiled the structure’s designs on Tuesday, saying in a joint statement that the goal is to “to set a record as one of the tallest residential constructions in the world”. According to the New York Post, the tower will have 100 floors, two more than the current title holder, the Central Park Tower on 57th Street in Manhattan.

According to developers, the ‘hypertower’ will also be taller than the Manhattan skyscraper, which stands at 472 metres.

“What Binghatti has done in real estate, by creating a brand through a distinct design philosophy and architectural identity is very similar to what Jacob & Co has done in the world of jewelry and horology,” said Binghatti CEO Muhammad Binghatti. “Both our brands are born from the sheer desire to achieve what breaks boundaries.”

Another eye-catching feature will be the crown, which will have diamond-shaped spires.

According to the Post, services will include a concierge team providing a la carte service, a bodyguard, a chauffeur, and a private chef. An “exclusive private club” with an infinity pool and a lounge area is also planned.

The structure will be located in the heart of Business Bay, Dubai’s financial district. According to the developers, five penthouses will be built on the top floor that will be “most luxurious and exclusive.”

The building’s opening date has yet to be announced.
