Notably, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma had announced that he would provide jobs to every 1 lakh unemployed of the state. At the Assam Assembly, he had announced that within a year of forming the government he would provide employment to1 lakh unemployed and not a single less.
But even after 9 months of forming the government, the state’s unemployed are waiting for that promise to be fulfilled. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma made another comment that the selection for 60,000 posts has already begun.
There is no report of where, when, and how these advertisements for 60,000 posts appeared. So, the Chief Minister’s comments have evoked reactions. Meanwhile, Dhing MLA Aminul Islam in a mocking tone said that the Chief Minister has taken significant steps in setting up Jatin Bora in the field of unemployment. He further added Jatin Bora was the first of the 1 lakh unemployed to be appointed. By giving Jatin Bora a good position in APDCL the Assam government has made a clear statement over the process of employing the unemployed.
