Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid his tribute to the martyrs of the Kargil war who lost their lives protecting the nation.
The Indian armed forces on July 26, 1999, defeated Pakistan and since then the day is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas. The day is celebrated to bring back the memories of the pride and valor of the soldiers who took part in Operation Vijay.
Taking to Twitter, PM Modi wrote: “We remember their sacrifices. We remember their valor. Today, on Kargil Vijay Diwas we pay homage to all those who lost their lives in Kargil protecting our nation. Their bravery motivates us every single day.
