Key Highlights Regarding Assam Assembly Elections in Kamrup Metro

Kamrup (Metro) District Administration Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu on Saturday organized a press meet regarding Assam Assembly elections.

The key highlights of the Press Meet are:
• Elections will be held on April 6 in all four constituencies of Kamrup Metropolitan District.
• In Jalukbari, there will be 297 polling stations for 2,02400 voters.
• In Dispur, there will be 607 polling stations for 4,06556 voters.
• A total of 1707 polling stations have been set up in Kamrup (Metro) district for 11,37,376 voters. Out of which 1204 are basic polling stations and 503 are extra polling stations.
• A single poll station cannot have more than one thousand voters due to the Covid-19 protocol.
• Every political party and candidate must abide by the Covid-19 guidelines.
• During the nomination procedure, only two persons can accompany the candidate.
• Only 5 people can accompany the candidate during house to house campaign.
• During road campaigning, only five vehicles are allowed.
• People with physical disabilities, elderly over 80 years of age, and those suffering from Covid can vote through ballot papers.

This year, there are 50,000 new voters in the four constituencies in Kamrup (M) for Assam Assembly polls.
