An incident took place in Guwahati’s Maligaon on Friday morning, a woman was killed and three others received serious injuries when a guard wall collapsed after heavy rain.
According to the sources the incident took place in American Colony in the Maligaon area of the city. Part of the house was also reportedly damaged.
According to the state disaster response authority (SDMA), the landslide took place at around 4.30 am.
“A lady Pratima Banik age 60 years died and 3 others are injured,” the report said.
The injured persons, family members of the deceased, were admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, the official said.
The city has been witnessing heavy rains for the past few days, leading to water-logging in several areas.
