Kamrup district Commissioner, Kailash Karthik N has assigned ten days work deadline to complete the maintenance work of the Saraighat bridge. Several complaints regarding the non-completion of the Saraighat bridge have been received by the Kamrup district.
The district commissioner has targeted to complete 10% work in the next to last 10 days. If required, the district commissioner is ready to provide every kind of assistance.
The Kamrup DC held meetings and had discussions with the railway and several leaders of other departments.
In the last three days, massive traffic has been observed on both sides of the road on Saraighat bridge. Numerous numbers vehicles were stuck in the traffic near Amingaon, North Guwahati which made it difficult for the public to commute smoothly and function.
Hence, the decision to immediately complete the maintenance task of the bridge has been taken for the welfare of the people.
After the immediate direction by the district commissioner, now it will depend on the northeast frontier railway how they complete the maintenance work.
