Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee takes oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal for the third consecutive time.

The sworn-in ceremony was held as a low-key program due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The ceremony was held amidst the mounting pressure on the TMC government over the recent post-poll violence which led to the death of 14 people in two days.
Soon after taking oath as the West Bengal CM, Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday urged all political parties to ensure peace and tranquility in the state.
“There has been some random violence after the election result. The situation will be handled with strong actions. There has been some inefficiency and we have to change the whole setup immediately.” Mamata Banerjee stated after her sworn-in ceremony.

Minutes after the sworn-in ceremony, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar also gave a sharp message to the CM on the post-poll violence in the state.
“The Law has the highest position in our Constitution and must be maintained the same. I urge for immediate and necessary action.” WB Governor stated.
