An incident of the man-elephant conflict took place near Pamohi in Guwahati, where a person had to lose his life. A man was trampled to death by a wild elephant. The victim is identified as Jama was attacked near the Bhima Shankar Temple

The incident has angered the local residents of the Pamohi area. Villagers are very unhappy with the forest department’s negligence. The residents have been long demanding a solution to the elephant problem in their area. As the area is near Deepor Beel and the Rani Forest Division it also serves as an animal corridor.
