On March 15, a video of a man glorifying Mahmud of Ghazni surfaced on various Social Media platforms. The video went viral on the internet which glorified Mahmud of Ghazni, the infamous Islamist marauder, who attacked and plundered Somnath Temple repeatedly.

The video was shot by the man himself, at the beach adjacent to the historic temple.
In the viral video, the man hailed many Islamist invaders, including Arab invader Mohammad bin Qasim for attacking and looting the temples of India.

The man also urges Muslims to read about their “glorious history” and make others read about it as well.
The man continues saying that though the present history brands Mahmud Ghaznavi and Mohammad Bin Qasim as ‘thieves’ and ‘dacoits’, they should be remembered for bringing “glory to Islam”.

Towards the end of the video, the Muslim man foully admits that he has been to the Somnath Temple a short while ago. He also exhorted that Muslims should not forget their “illustrious history”.

According to a recent report, an FIR was lodged against the unidentified man for hurting the religious sentiments.
Police registered a case under sections 153 (A) (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc.) and 295 (A) (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
