Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday evening ceremonially distributed financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 each to more than 15,00 children.
Financial support was given to children in need of special care. The distribution ceremony was conducted under the ‘Snehasparsh Scheme’.

During the ceremony, the minister also announced the Assam government’s first-of-its-kind scheme whereby cerebral palsy patients below 12 years of age will be provided monthly support of Rs. 25,00. This scheme has been undertaken to enable parents to ensure physio and speech therapy.
“Government of Assam has initiated first-of-its kind scheme whereby cerebral palsy patients below 12 years will be provided monthly support of Rs 2500 to enable parents to ensure physio & speech therapy.
We urge all to take best benefits out of this.” Himanta Biswa Sarma informed in another Tweet.
