Bhabanipur constituency’s All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MLA Phanidhar Talukdar is likely to join the BJP on August 21, 2021.
After two Congress MLAs – Rupjyoti Kurmi (Morigaon) and Sushanta Borgohain (Thowra) – resigning from the party to don saffron, it is now the turn of AIUDF MLA Phanidhar Talukdar to follow the same footsteps.
On the other hand, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that Talukdar contacted him several times and showed his willingness to join the party by the last week of August.
Borgohain has also sent his resignation letter to APCC President Bhupen Borah via email and also submitted a hard copy of the letter.
