Narendra Modi’s Dhemaji Visit, Key Highlights of Modi’s Speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday morning inaugurated various developmental projects in Dhemaji, Assam.

PM Modi dedicated new three projects worth Rs 3,222 crores in Assam. He said that the Centre & Assam government are working together to develop infrastructure in the state. The minister is also scheduled to visit West Bengal later in the day.

In the event, PM Narendra Modi launched INDMAX Unit at Indian Oil’s Bongaigaon Refinery, Oil India Limited’s Secondary Tank Farm at Madhuban, Dibrugarh.
He also inaugurated a Gas Compressor Station at Hebeda Village, Makum, Tinsukia.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Dhemaji Engineering College and laid the foundation stone for Sualkuchi Engineering College.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma were also present at the event.

Highlights of Narendra Modi’s speech-
• The central government and Assam government are working together to develop the state’s infrastructure and enhance the productivity of all sectors.
• PM Modi said, “government is spending more on fisheries sector in Assam since Independence. A scheme of Rs. 20000 crores have been sanctioned for the purpose.”
• The completion of Bogibeel Bridge and broad gauge railway line in North Bank have been done by the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government.
• The Assam government is working towards the creation of colleges for girls and polytechnic colleges in the region.
• The Dhemaji Engineering College is the first engineering college in North Bank.
• The Assam government is working at a massive level for such colleges for girls and even polytechnic colleges in the region.
• Taking a dig on the previous government, Modi said, “those who ruled the country for decades never considered North-East as a vital part of India.”
• The New Education Policy is going to benefit Assam the most.

PM Narendra Modi will also address a public meeting in Chuchura, Dunlop Ground, Hooghly, West Bengal at 3:45 pm.
Later, he will inaugurate several railway projects at around 4:30 pm.
