A Right to Information report revealed that Prime Minister’s Mann ki Baat has helped the All-India-Radio (AIR) generated a massive sum of Rs 30.28 crore. Meanwhile, the government has spent Rs 7.29 crore on various advertisements issued for the publicity of the radio programme through various mediums, the RTI report stated. Thus, the programme has helped state-owned radio broadcaster generate four times the revenue the government spent on its advertisement
The RTI filed by one Aniket Gaurav wanted information on the total expenditure incurred and revenue generated since the show’s premiere in 2014 till September 2020.
Mann Ki Baat is an Indian radio programme hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he addresses the people of the nation on All India Radio, DD National and DD News. The PM also asks for feedback from the listeners during the episodes.
