New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has recovered from COVID-19. The Home Minister is likely to be discharged in a short time.
“Sh. Amit Shah, Hon’ble Home Minister is admitted at AIIMS, New Delhi for post-COVID Care. He has recovered and is likely to be discharged in a short time,” the chairperson of AIIMS’ media and protocol division, Dr. Aarti Vij informed.
Shah was admitted at AIIMS on August 18 after for post-COVID care after suggestions from doctors.
He was kept under observation in AIIMS and a team of doctors led by AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria was monitoring his condition.
“Sh Amit Shah, Honourable Home Minister has been complaining of fatigue and body aches for the last 3-4 days. He has tested negative for COVID -19. He has been admitted to AIIMS for post COVID care. He is comfortable and is continuing his work from the hospital,” hospital officials had said.
The Home Minister had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month on August 2. He was admitted to a private hospital in Gurgaon.
Amit Shah was the first Union cabinet minister to test positive for the virus. Since then, four other Union ministers have tested positive in India.
