Pakistan on Thursday violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) once again in the Qasba and Kirni sectors of Poonch district in Jammu & Kashmir.
A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Indian Army was killed and another civilian was injured as Pakistani troops fired and shelled at the forward posts along the LoC. The JCO, Swatantra Singh was severely injured during the firing and was taken to a military hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.
The martyred soldier was a resident of Odiyari village of Pauri district in Uttarakhand.
According to official sources, till October 6, 2020, about 3,589 ceasefire violations by Pakistan along LoC were reported, the highest ceasefire violations took place in September with 427 cases.
