Country’s First ‘Sea Plane’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched India’s 1st seaplane service between the Statue of Unity near Kevadiya in Gujarat’s Narmada district and Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad.

Modi inaugurated the service by boarding the twin-engine plane from near Sardar Sarovar Dam.

This will also be the first of its kind of Sea Plane service in the country. It will be managed by private airline Spice Jet which will operate a 19-seater plane.

Assam’s Santanu Kalita projected the country’s first ‘Sea Plane’. He is working as the Head of the Sea Plane project of Spice jet.
