New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to visit Moscow for three days from September 3-5 to attend a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The Defence Minister of Russian Federation General Sergey Shoigu has invited Rajnath Singh to attend the combined meeting of Defence Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member States in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of victory in the World War II.
Raksha Mantri Shri @rajnathsingh will leave for Moscow tomorrow on a three day visit to Russia. He will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Defence Ministers’ meeting during his visit.

The meeting is expected to deliberate on regional security scenario. Besides attending the SCO defence ministers’ meeting, Singh will hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoigu and several other top military officials with an aim to expedite the implementation of several defence procurement programmes
India and Russia are privileged strategic partners. The present visit marks one of many high political level interactions, which the two countries engage in regularly.
