Flipkart has apoligized for sharing message that promotes kitchen appliances on the occasion of Women’s day. The message wrote “Dear Customer, this Women’s Day celebrate You. Get Kitchen Appliances from 299″.
The message hurts women’s sentiment. After the advertisement message received several users took to Twitter criticised Flipkart for maintaining gender norms. One Twitter user sharing a screenshot of the advertisement message tweeted, “Can you spot the problem here?” Soon after it was shared the tweet gathered hundreds of comments and reactions.
Later Flipkart apologized on Twitter saying, “We messed up and we are sorry; we did not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiment and apologies for the Women’s Day message shared earlier.”
