The death toll of the country is now at 71,642. According to the latest data of the Health Ministry at a total of 1,016 people died in the last 24 hours. On Sunday, there were 90,632 COVID-19 cases and a total of 70,626 deaths.
According to a statement by the Health Ministry, the active caseload accounts for only 20.96% of the total positive cases. The Case Fatality Rate as per government claim is one of the lowest. The Case Fatality Rate of the country is now at 1.72%. This is only possible due to the umbrella strategy of Test, Track, and Treat. And also due to the aggressive identification and wide-scale testing for COVID-19 cases.
India’s total recovery cases are now more than 32.5 Lakh. As per government data, 5 states are contributing 60% of the total COVID-19 cases. The states are: Maharashtra (21.6%), Andhra Pradesh (11.8%), Tamil Nadu (11.0%), Karnataka (9.5%) and Uttar Pradesh (6.3%).
