Indian Army Dog “Zoom,” who underwent surgery after suffering injuries during a clash with terrorists in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, succumbed to his injuries today, October 13.
According to a national daily, Zoom was receiving care at the Advance Field Veterinary Hospital in Srinagar.
“Zoom, an army canine being treated at 54 AFVH, passed away today afternoon. He was doing well until about 11:45 a.m., when he abruptly began to gasp and fell,” Army officials informed.
Army dog Zoom attacked the terrorists during a combat operation in Kokernag, Anantnag, and suffered critical injuries after being shot twice.
“Despite his wounds, he persisted in his mission, which led to the neutralisation of two terrorists. The dog is receiving care in Srinagar “an Army representative stated.
The assault dog was part of the combat unit of Operation Tangpawas. The Indian Army Chinar Corps wished Zoom a swift recovery on Twitter.
“Army assault dog Zoom suffered significant injuries while battling the terrorists in the operation. He is receiving care at the Army Vet Hospital in Srinagar. We hope he recovers quickly,” tweeted Army officials.
