India’s COVID toll crosses 2-lakh mark with 3,293 deaths in the last 24 hrs

India on Wednesday registered a record rise in deaths from Covid over the last 24 hours, taking its total deaths to the 2,00,000 mark.  India witnessed 3,293 COVID deaths in the last 24 hours. India a country with a population of 1.4 billion people is the fourth country in the globe to cross 200,000 death marks behind the United States, Brazil, and Mexico.

The top five states to register maximum cases in the last 24 hours are Maharashtra with 66,358 cases, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 32,921 cases, Kerela with 32,819 cases, Karnataka with31,830 cases, and Delhi with 24,149 cases.

Out of the 3.60lakh COVID cases in the last 24 hours, 52.1 percent of cases were reported from these five states, with Maharashtra alone adding 18.38 percent of it. In the number of deaths reported the maximum was reported in Maharashtra (895), followed by Delhi with381 deaths.

The number of recoveries in the last 24 hours is 1, 48,17,371, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.12 percent, the update at 8 am showed.
