Nation Achieves Historic Peak; Records All-Time High

COVID-19 recoveries

Indian Government once again achieves a national historic peak in the fight against COVID-19. For the first time, the Nation has conducted a very high number of COVID-19 tests in India. In the last 24 hours, there were nearly 15 lakh COVID-19 tests.

In the last 24 hours, the government has conducted 14,92,409 COVID-19 tests. Also, the cumulative tests in India are now nearly 7 crores (6,89,28,440).
The exponential surge in the daily testing capacities strongly demonstrates the escalation of testing infrastructure in the country. In the last 9 days, there were more than one crore COVID-19 tests in India.

The Tests Per Million (TPM) on September 25 is at 49,948. According to evidence, a higher number of testing leads to a lower positivity rate. States that are testing the highest numbers are also reporting a gradual decline in the positivity rate.

The National Cumulative Positivity Rate of the Nation on September 25 is at 8.44 percent.
With the expansion of testing infrastructure, there is also an increase in the daily testing by States and Union Territories. Nearly 23 states and Union Territories have better Tests Per Million than the National Average.

The three-stage of the strategy of the Government, “Testing, Track and Treat” form the integral pillar in COVID-19 management.
The “Chase The Virus” approach of the Union Government aims in catching every missing person through testing.

The expansion of diagnostic lab networks has also given a sharp boost in the increasing number of testing. To date, the testing network of labs has grown to 1818. These includes:

Real-Time RT-PCR testing labs: 769 (478 Government, 445 Private)
TrueNat Testing labs: 769 (572 Government, 197 Private)
CBNAAT testing labs: 126 (34 Government, 92 Private)
