Amid the protests on social media regarding the forthcoming JEE and NEET entrance exam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship ‘Mann Ki Baat’ received over 3.5 lakh dislikes. The student community across India joined hands to dislike the video after Modi skipped issues like JEE and NEET exam in his speech.
Netizens expected that Modi would address the issues but they were disappointed after the Prime Minister chose to be silent on the issue. The episode was broadcasted on Sunday, August 30 in Bharatiya Janata Party’s YouTube channel.
Later in the evening, following the episode, Twitter started to trend #Mann_Ki_Nahi_Student_Ki_Baat against the decision of conducting the engineering and medical entrance tests— JEE (Main) April 2020 and NEET (Undergraduate examinations)— in September.
The same episode, uploaded on YouTube channel of DD News, PMO India, and Narendra Modi also received dislikes equally.

Moreover, Twitter also witnessed a storm of protests with hashtags like #StudentsDislikePMModi and #StudentsLiveMatters in trending.
“Holding exams amid the pandemic is such a painful move by the government. It is confusing to see how they have maintained their silence over the issue,” said a NEE aspirant from Guwahati.
“Why is the government is bent on conducting exams when the situation is so bad. Are 80,000 cases a day joke?” questioned Y Sravani on Twitter, which has received over 1k retweets.

Meanwhile, the netizens also thanked BJP MP Subramanian Swamy, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and actor Sonu Sood for their efforts in pressuring the government to postpone the exams.
“It is more like a suicide mission!” exclaimed Raj Pratap on Reddit while sharing a series of a meme.
Alongside this issue, the SSC aspirants also joined the soon-to-be collegegoers and marked their protests against the government for holding the SSC competitive examination.
