National: The police recover a huge amount of explosives from a house in a village of Uttar Pradesh. Along with the explosives, the police also recovered a suicide jacket. All the items were recovered from a house of the suspected ISIS operative. The suspect was earlier arrested in Delhi. The jacket was supposed to be used for a suicide attack.
The Delhi Police had said on August 22 was successful in arresting Mohammed Mushtaqeem Khan. Khan, a 36-year-old is a suspect operative of the Islamic State. After a brief exchange of fire on the night of August 21, police were successful in arresting the ISIS suspect. They were successful in arresting him near the Ridge Road area in Central Delhi. He was on a white TVS Apache motorcycle at the time of his arrest.
According to Police, Khan was planning for a “lone wolf” terror strike. He was plotting plans to terror strike in a high footfall area in the Capital. He was planning to use a high-intensity pressure cooker-based improvised explosive device (IED).
During interrogation, Khan revealed his original plan. His original plan was to carry out the IED blasts during the Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
The police team on August 22, reached Balrampur with Khan. From the house, Police were successful in recovering two pressure cooker IEDs weighing around 15kg. Also, a.30 bore pistol and four cartridges have been recovered from the bag Khan was carrying.
According to Pramod Kushwaha, DC of police (Special Cell), they were tracking the contacts of the IS operative for the past one year. Khan was also in direct touch with the commanders of the Islamic State in Khorasan Province (ISKP) in Afghanistan.
