National: Prakash Javedkar, The Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting has given nod to allow shooting of films and TV shows.
Prakash Javedkar on August 23, released a set of SOPs allowing to resume shooting.

“The film industry is very important as it gives employment to many people. Also, it contributes largely to the economy of the country.” Prakash stated in his official video statement.

The minister also took consultation with the Home Ministry and Health Ministry. The ministry firmed up a set of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). According to the SOP, all actors have to follow the guidelines of the Health Ministry. Every member of the crew must also follow all the necessary health protocols of COVID-19. However, it is not necessary for the actors facing the camera to wear a mask during the shoot.

As per the guidelines, high-risk employees will have to take extra precautions. They must not expose themselves to the frontline work which requires contact with the public. Masks for all the crew members are mandatory. Everyone must strictly follow the sanitization norms. Also, the use of the Aarogya Setu app is a must for all crew members.

Everyone will have to go through the thermal screening at entry points. Also, only asymptomatic people can enter the premises. As far as possible, every person must maintain a physical distance of six feet. Also, the management of the crowd outside the premises is very important.

Since March 25, the production of films and television programs was in the hold. This was due to the nationwide lockdown for the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier, there was a demand from the industry to resume work. Meanwhile, some of the states gave the industry to resume shooting. However, there were some exceptions.
