News Desk: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued Revised Guidelines for International Arrivals. The revised guidelines are in supersession of the Guidelines issued May 24. They will be operational from midnight on August 8.
Before Planning for Travel passengers must follow a few regulations:
- Travelers should submit a self-declaration form on the online portal (newdelhiairport.in). The submission must be done at least 72 hours before scheduled travel.
- They should also give an undertaking on the portal that they would undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days.
- Home quarantine may be permitted only for compelling reasons. Cases of human distress such as pregnancy, death in the family, serious illness. Parents with children of 10 years or below, home quarantine may also be permitted for 14 days.
- To seek exemption under the above clause, they shall apply to the online portal (www.newdelhiairport.in). The submission must be done at least 72 hours before boarding. The decision taken by the government on the online portal will be final.
- Travelers can seek exemption from institutional quarantine by submitting a negative RT- PCR test report on arrival. This test should be conducted within 96 Hrs. prior to undertaking a journey. The test report should be uploaded on the portal for consideration.
Each passenger must submit a declaration along with the authenticity of the report. A passenger can be liable for criminal prosecution if found otherwise. The test report can be produced upon arrival at the entry point of the airport in India.
Before Boarding passengers must follow a few regulations:
- All passengers are advised to download Aarogya Setu.
- Only asymptomatic travelers will be allowed to board after the thermal screening.
- Passengers arriving through the land borders will also have to undergo the same protocol. Only those who are asymptomatic will be allowed to cross the border into India.
- Suitable precautionary measures such as environmental sanitation and disinfection shall be ensured at the airports.
- During boarding and at the airports, all possible measures to ensure social distancing to be ensured.
During Travel the regulations to follow are:
- Travelers can fill self-declaration forms in the flight or ship also. A copy of the same will be given to Health and Immigration officials. Travelers can submit self-declaration forms on the online portal at arrival if the facility is available.
- While onboard, required precautions such as wearing masks, environmental and hand hygiene, etc. are to be observed.
On arrival passenger should follow the following regulations:
- De-boarding should be done ensuring social distancing.
- Thermal screening must be carried out by the Health officials after arrival. The self-declaration form filled online must be shown to the airport health staff.
- The passengers found to be symptomatic during screening shall be immediately isolated. They will be taken to a medical facility as per health protocol.
- Post thermal screening, the passengers who have been exempted from institutional quarantine will show the same.
- The remaining passengers shall be taken to suitable institutional quarantine facilities.
- These passengers must be kept under institutional quarantine for a minimum period of 7 days.
If they test positive, they will be assessed clinically.
- If they are assessed as asymptomatic, pre-symptomatic, very mild cases, they will be allowed home isolation or isolated in the COVID-19 Care Centre.
- Those having mild, moderate, severe symptoms will be admitted to dedicated COVID Health facilities and managed accordingly.
If found negative, they will be advised to further isolate themselves. They can self-isolate at home and monitor their health for 7 days.
- If any symptoms develop they shall inform the district surveillance officer or call (1075).
States can, however, develop their own protocol with regards to quarantine and isolation.
