National: Rhea Chakraborty, Bollywood actor on Monday morning reached the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office. She was summoned for another round of questioning in the money laundering case. The money laundering case against her is related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Showik Chakraborty, brother of Rhea accompanied her. The previous questioning of the actor by the ED went for nearly 8 hours. This is Showik Chakraborty’s third visit to the ED office. ED Questioned him twice, first on Friday and then on Saturday.
According to sources, the ED will also question the actor’s father Indrajit Chakraborty. Earlier on Saturday, Showik was also questioned by ED. The questioning went for nearly 18 hours. On August 8, Saturday, Rhea was also questioned. As per reports from sources, the questioning of Showik went on till 6:30 on Sunday morning. According to officials, he has given ‘evasive’ and ‘unconvincing’ replies to the ED.
The ED also summoned Sushant’s friend and flatmate Siddharth Pathani. According to sources, he has arrived at the Enforcement Directorate office. He was summoned in connection with the money laundering case.
On July 31, the ED registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act against Rhea and her family members. The case was registered on the basis of an FIR filed by Bihar Police. Sushant’s father, KK Singh filed the complaint. He alleged that Rs 15 crore was withdrawn or transferred from Sushant’s bank account. A team of financial probe agency also quizzed the late actor’s, CA, Sandeep Sridhar. They also questioned Rhea’s associate Samuel Miranda and her CA Ritesh Shah.
On August 7, the state police transferred the case to the CBI. The CBI re-registered an FIR of alleged criminal conspiracy and abetment to suicide against Rhea Chakraborty. The CBI will also record the statement of Sushant Singh Rajput’s family members.
