Sonu Sood has launched scholarships for underprivileged students in his late mother Saroj Sood’s name. He stated that in the past few months, he has seen the struggle of people who faced problems in paying for their children’s education. Some people do not have phones to attend online classes, while others do not have money to pay fees. He has pledged to support complete college education for students in need.
The actor has been in the headlines during the COVID-19 lockdown. He reached out to millions of migrant workers and daily wage workers to extend help. In the last couple of days, he has been helping the needy with books, equipment, and others. He is now on a mission to start another initiative to help underprivileged students.
Sonu Sood will be launching full scholarships for students in various courses in the name of his late mother, Saroj Sood. Sonu’s mother a professor and she used to teach in Moga (Punjab) free of cost.
Student’s coming from families whose annual income is less than Rs. 2 Lakh can apply for the scholarship. However, the student’s academic record should be good. All their expenses, course fees, hostel accommodation, and everything will be taken care of by Sonu Sood.
He believes that financial challenges should not stop anyone from reaching their full potential.
Sonu Sood has tied up with universities across India to offer the scholarships under the name of his mother.
The scholarships will be available for different types of courses like Medicine, Engineering, Journalism, and Business Studies. It also includes courses like Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Fashion, Data Science, and Robotics & Automation.
