Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday informed that two terrorists including one top Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) terrorist Sajad Afghani were killed in an ongoing encounter between terrorists and security forces in the Shopian district. Afghani was instrumental in recruiting terrorists.
The other dead terrorist has been identified as Lashkar-affiliated Jahangir Ahmad Wani from Rakh Narapora.
A search operation in the area was launched on Friday and the encounter started on Saturday evening. Earlier, one militant was killed on Sunday in the encounter.
One US-made M4 carbine, three magazines, 36 armour piercing rounds and Rs 9,600 were recovered from the possession of Sajad Afghani at the encounter site.
