Union Ministry: Recovered Cases 2.93 Times More Than Active Cases

New Delhi: Union Health Ministry on August 18 stated that the recovered cases are 2.93 times the number of active cases in India.
The number of recovered patients is more than 19.7 lakhs. This count is 2.93 times the active cases count. The Case fatality rate is also very low and is below 2%.
Secretary of Union Health Ministry, Rajesh Bhushan while briefing the media about the COVID-19 situation in India stated the above information.

India also has the highest ever number of tests done in the last 24 hours. The total number of tests done in a day is more than 8,99,000. This is a new record by the Government.
Despite the sustained level of 7 Lakh to 8 Lakh tests a day, the positivity figure is low. The positivity percent has come down from 10.03 percent to 7.72 percent.

NITI Aayog member V.K. Paul said one of the three vaccines is in the developing stage in India. One of the vaccines will enter the phase 3 trial soon. The other two are in the second and first phase trials.
PM Modi in his speech on Independence Day also informed the country about the development of vaccines.

In the last 24 hours, a spike of 64,531 positive cases took place in India. The country has crossed the 27 Lakh mark in the total number of COVID-19 infected cases. So far, more than 19 Lakh people have recovered from the virus. In India, the total number of deaths so far is 52,889. However, the recovery rate has been increased to more than 73 percent.
It is to be noted that Maharashtra, New Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh are the states with the highest number of cases.
