No mask, No Goods policy is implemented in the city, Guwahati from now onwards. Increasing numbers of Covid19 virus cases in the city, the Kamrup (metro) district administration on Tuesday asked the shopkeepers in the city to opt for ‘no mask no sales’ policy mandatorily.

The decision was taken after the district administration, Gauhati Municipal Corporation (GMC), and the officials of the metro district’s bazaar committees.

The district administration has made it mandatory for all shopkeepers to put sanitizers available for their customers and all staff of the shops was asked to wear masks.

Biswajit Pegu DC, Kamrup Metro said, “there should be a banner saying ‘no mask-no sales’ mandatorily in the city area. Failing to adhere to the covid protocols in the shops, district administration task force may seal the shops and trade license may be canceled.”

GMC authority has also asked the bazaar committees to restrict temporary shops on by lanes and in front of other shops.
